At the intersection of Dublin Blvd and Dougherty Road, pedestrians are prohibited from crossing on the south side of Dublin Blvd. That means someone trying to get from the southwest corner of the intersection to the southeast corner needs to cross *three* streets rather than one. It takes about 30 seconds to traverse each crosswalk and it takes about 40 seconds of wait time at the northwest and northeast corners. That means a 30-second walk is transformed into a 30+40+30+40+30=170 seconds = 2 minutes 50-second walk. That's a 5.7x slowdown. This is extremely unfriendly to walkers and thus discourages people from walking.
